Experience true octopus quality with our Frozen Raw Ready-to-cook Portuguese Octopus, widely regarded by chefs and gourmands as the best in the world.
- Flash-Frozen for Freshness: To ensure this delicacy arrives at your door with its perfect texture and flavor intact, we individually flash-freeze each octopus immediately. This process locks in the quality and prevents the toughness that can result from improper handling.
- Natural Tenderness: The cold waters and strong currents force the octopus to develop more muscle, resulting in a firm, yet exceptionally tender texture when cooked. Our flash-freezing process preserves this natural tenderness, so you won’t have to worry about a rubbery result.
Enjoy a truly authentic taste of the sea with an octopus that has been celebrated for centuries in traditional Mediterranean cuisine. Whether grilled, braised, or served in a salad, our Frozen Portuguese Octopus is guaranteed to elevate your cooking to a new level.

Defrost it: Defrost the octopus from its frozen state.
Dip the Tentacles ("Scalding"): Dunk the legs into boiling water 3 times for 5 seconds each so they curl neatly and the skin sets.
Low & Slow Simmer (45–90 Mins): Cover and cook at a bare simmer, never a hard boil, until a knife slides into the thickest part of the leg with no resistance.
Cool in the Liquid: Let the octopus cool down inside the pot liquid so it stays juicy and the outer skin doesn't tear off.
No Extra Water Needed: You can braise it in a covered dry pot with just olive oil and garlic; it will cook in its own natural juices.
Flash-Sear to Finish: Dry completely, brush with oil, and sear over screaming-hot heat (grill or cast iron) for 1–2 minutes per side to get a charred crust without drying it out.
Frozen items are shipped with dry ice to ensure the arrive fully frozen. Please place them directly into your freezer upon arrival.
If you order fresh and frozen items together, we package your shipment using gel ice packs instead of dry ice to protect your fresh goods. As a result, frozen items may partially thaw during transit. You can safely place them straight back into your freezer, or allow them to finish defrosting and enjoy right away.
Defrosting Guidelines
- Overnight in the Fridge: Small packs take 6–12 hours; large packs take 12–48 hours.
- Cold Water Bowl: Submerge sealed items in cold water for a faster thaw.
- Note: Do not use hot water or attempt to thaw by cooking, as this ruins the natural texture and flavor.
